A writer of great potential, modest success and average intelligence starts a year-long doomsday clock to complete her novel, pitting her gift for words against her talent for procrastination. Also in the mix? Barely-grown kids still finding their way; a large, extended family; a job; a garden; a yen to rummage; menopause coupled with a decreased libido breathing down her neck; and a high performance husband (to be known hereafter as Katz.)
